Marty
started painting seriously when she and her husband, Robert (Bob)
retired in 2006 to Onancock on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
Marty and Robert joined the Eastern Shore Art League a few months
after arriving in Onancock. There Marty met Diana Davis, a well
known watercolor artist of the Shore, and started taking lessons
from Diana soon after they met. She started getting involved in the
Art League’s activities and became the Public Relations
Representative for the Eastern Shore Art League and the Eastern
Shore Art League Gallery. The Gallery is located at 6 College
Street, Onancock, Virginia. (The old high school that is being
refurbished for local activities.) You may see her art at the
Eastern Shore Art League Gallery every Friday and Saturday afternoon
from 1:00 to 4:00pm year ‘round; and the second Friday of each month
from 1:00 to 8:00pm with refreshments being served from 5:00 to
8:00pm. The Artist also shows her art at festivals and shows
in the area from Assateague to Cape Charles on the Eastern Shore.
She was accepted and juried July, 2009 for the “17th Street
Festival” held in Virginia Beach, Virginia. |
